26 Oct 2026: Waiting room for Calls

Ricardo Updated by Ricardo

Until now, if someone called your number and nobody was free to pick up, the call just rang out. From the caller's side that looks the same as a number that doesn't work. Most people don't try twice.

To solve that, we introduced a Waiting Room. When it's on, Turn accepts the call automatically and keeps the person on the line until an operator is free.

You can set a welcome message that plays when they connect, something like "Welcome to our service, please hold", so they know they've reached the right place and that someone's coming.

While they wait, there's hold music. We've added a few to choose from: Bossa Nova, Ambient Lo-fi, Smooth Jazz, World Music and Calm Classical. If none of those suit you, you can upload your own track!

The welcome message works the same way, so you can upload your own audio there too.

Getting started

Simply head over to Settings > Calls, and enable the Waiting room toggle:

Both the welcome message and the hold music can be changed whenever you like, and you can switch the welcome message off if you'd rather callers go straight to the music.

Never miss an important call again!
