22 Sep 2026: Image Censoring

Ricardo Updated by Ricardo

People send all sorts of things over WhatsApp. Most of it is what you'd expect, like a photo of a rash, a prescription, or a lab result. Every now and then it's something nobody on your team should have to see.

Until now, when an image came in, operators saw it straight away, whether they wanted to or not. Your team didn't get a choice.

You can now turn on image blurring for the inbox. When it's enabled, images show up blurred, and the operator decides whether to look. If it's the X-ray they asked for, they open it. If it isn't, they don't have to see it at all:

To enable this, simply head to Settings > Inbox, and enable Image censoring:

Your operators are the ones reading these conversations all day, and this is a small way to look after them while they do it.
