How to upload and send stickers

Neelke Stadler Updated by Neelke Stadler

Stickers are a fun way to make your service content more engaging and colourful. With Turn.io, you can send stickers in two ways: from the Inbox or within a Journey.

⚠️ Important: Sticker Requirements
WhatsApp is very strict about sticker formatting.
Please test your stickers after uploading.

Stickers must:

  • Have a transparent background
  • Be exactly 512 x 512 pixels
  • Be less than 100 KB in size
  • Be in .webp format

👉 If your file isn’t already in .webp, you can easily convert it using an online tool such as cloudconvert.

Sending Stickers from the Inbox

  1. Step 1: Upload the sticker to Turn.io
Go to the Content page and open the Sticker tab.
  2. Step 2: Click Add Sticker
  1. Step 3: Complete the sticker card by selecting language, adding a name (for internal purposes), and uploading the sticker (one sticker at a time — packs are not supported).
  2. Step 4: Use your sticker in a reply. In the Reply Box, click the Sticker icon and choose the sticker you uploaded.

Sending Stickers from a Journey

When building a Journey, you can send a sticker by:

  • Uploading the .webp image directly into a Text Card type (leave the text field empty).
  • WhatsApp will then interpret the correctly formatted image as a sticker.

If you need to send it via API, check out this article: Send sticker via the API
