28 Oct 2024: More roles and better permissions

Neelke Stadler Updated by Neelke Stadler

With two new roles you can assign more granular levels of access to team members, reducing the chances of mistakes and improving how your team works together.

To help you stay organised and make sure that the right people have access to the right information, we are introducing more roles with better permissions. For example, if you work with external partners on the helpdesk you can now limit their access preventing accidental changes to chat service journeys.

As your business grows, you need better control, more security, and smoother workflows. There are now three user roles on Turn.io, each with specific permissions to help your team avoid accidents like deleting important data. Making sure only the right people can make important changes.

Below we highlight the role differences, but you can read more on controlling access with roles and permissions.

Role

Permissions

Admin

Everything. Unrestricted access and control over all aspects of an organisation.

Builder

Can access and edit most things, but can’t make organisation-wide changes.

Tasks like importing people, sending reminders (large outbound campaigns) and managing billing require Admin permissions. Builders should focus on creating chat journeys.

Operator

Only has access to the Inbox. This role focuses on helping people via chat.

How does current roles map to the new roles?

Great question! To date there were two roles: Admins and non-admins. Admin users will stay admin users and non-admins will become Builders. If you want to assign different roles to team members you can easily do that on the members page.
