25 Nov 2025: WhatsApp Flows in Journeys

Marije Updated by Marije

We're thrilled to announce the launch of WhatsApp Flows in Journeys, bringing a new level of structure and sophistication to your customer conversations right inside WhatsApp! Say goodbye to confusing, back-and-forth messages and hello to seamless, form-like interactions.

What Are WhatsApp Flows?

WhatsApp Flows are interactive mini-apps that run natively in the chat window, allowing you to design beautiful, multi-screen forms for structured data capture.

  • Intuitive UX: Guide your users step-by-step through complex choices, product selections, or information gathering with an easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly interface.
  • Persistent: if users need to pause a flow mid-way, they can continue where they left off later — no problem
  • Precise: Tools like the date picker make it super easy to capture information in unambiguous format, ensuring you receive perfectly formatted data every single time.

More about the new Flow card

The new Flow card functionality takes personalisation and intelligence to the next level:

  • Intelligent Pre-Filling: The most powerful update! You can now use the Initial data setting to pass existing profile data (like a user's name or a previous selection) directly into the Flow. This pre-fills the form fields, saving the user time and ensuring a truly personalized experience!
  • Handle Interruptions Gracefully: We've built in intelligence to handle real-life conversations. If a user types a message back during the Flow, the Journey will automatically continue down the "not completed flow" path, allowing you to manage the interruption without breaking the user experience.
  • Full Data Integration: Once the user successfully completes the Flow, their structured data is instantly available for you to use - update their profile, trigger an API call, or send a custom confirmation message!
