Send message templates to users

As soon as your message templates have been approved by WhatsApp, you can start using them in conversations with users.

Here’s how:

  • Step 1: Go to the “Dashboard” section of Turn.io.
  • Step 2: Click on “View chats” in any of your collections.
  • Step 3: If you look at the section of the page where you can respond to a user (towards the bottom of the page), you’ll see that there is a “Template” tab right next to the “Write reply” tab. When you click on this, you’ll see your approved templates. You can also search for templates, using the search bar.
  • Step 4: Select the template you’d like to use in the conversation. A box will pop up that will allow you to replace your parameter placeholders with the relevant text, for example the user’s name and query. The message template text at the top of the box makes it easy for you to see where the placeholders are and what text you should be inserting to replace them.
  • Step 5: Once you’ve added all your parameter text, the 'Send' button will become clickable. Click ‘Send’ and your message template will be sent straight to your user.

Well done!🙌 You’ve used your first message template. Templates are the only way in which to initiate conversations with users after the 24-hour window period has lapsed, which is why we encourage you to set them up as early as possible.
