Delete or copy a template

Neelke Stadler Updated by Neelke Stadler

Keep your workspace neat and tidy by deleting templates that are rejected or no longer used. Or copy an existing template that you need to tweak.

Your templates have a 3 dotted menu in the top right corner. Once you click the dots you will be able to copy or delete a template.

Copy a template
  • Click the 3 dotted menu and select Copy.
  • The current template will be copied as is. You need to change the name - template names need to be unique per language. Even if you deleted the template you cannot re-use the same name for 30 days.
If one deletes a template then all language versions of that template are deleted. This deletion process can take up to 30 days to complete and there for you cannot create a new template with the same name within 30 days after deletion.
  • Update the message details as needed. Maybe there is a spelling error, or you need to tweak a sentence to get approval or make it read easier for users.
  • Submit your template. Remember by copying and editing a template you will submit a new template to WhatsApp for approval. You cannot edit an existing template (WhatsApp dictates this), you can only submit a new version for approval.
Delete a template
  • Click the 3 dotted menu and select Delete.
  • You will be prompted to confirm that you really want to delete the template.

That's it! Do yourself the favour to keep your Turn.io account neat and tidy.
