How to add skip logic to your thread

Pippa Updated by Pippa

By default Threads follow a linear order, but what if you need them to skip to another question?

The user will receive the questions in the order you set them up in your thread, one after the other from top to bottom. But if your user doesn't qualify to complete a survey, or does not consent and you need to skip them to another question or to the end message you'll need to add skip logic to your Thread.

  1. Step 1: Log in to your Turn.io account and navigate to the “Content” tab on the left-hand side.
  2. Step 2: Click on the “THREADS” tab top left. You'll only see this is your account has been activated for Threads Beta.
  3. Step 3: Open an existing Thread or Add a new Thread. Once you've added all your content to your Thread continue to Step 4.
  4. Step 4: Navigate to the Multiple Choice Question in your Thread you'd like to add Skip logic to.
    1. Click on the SMALL LINK ICON on the answer option - a modal will pop up with a dropdown.
    2. SELECT the question or message you'd like your user to skip to if they reply with that answer. The dropdown will list all content in your Thread.
  1. Click SAVE and the modal will close. You'll see the text next to the link icon update to your the question or message you chose.
  2. Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for all the answer options you'd like to add skip logic to.
  3. Step 6: SAVE and PUBLISH button on the top right. Click Unpublish anytime you want to deactivate your Thread.
